On March 19, 2024, The Town of Belgrade Board of Selectpersons approved an increase in the inter-local agreement with the Town of Rome beginning July 1, 2024. Due to rising cost with their solid waste contractor Waste Management of 5% a year over the next five years, the Town of Belgrade must pass on some of the cost of the increase by raising the fee of the special stickers for the Rome residents from $20 per 10 to $40 per 10.
The increase will begin on July 1, 2024, for Rome residents to use the Town of Belgrade's Transfer Station facility for disposal of Solid Waste. Please note, the Town will continue to accept recyclable from Rome Residents, which has been the practice for several years for no fee.
