Town Beach Updates

The Rome Recreation Committee and other community members have been busy at the Town Beach adding rip-rap to stabilize the shore. Many thanks go to Trent Shute, Andy Cook and Sandy Shute and special thanks to Carroll Bubar for operating his excavator, and SUPER thanks to Lois Stratton for her time and the use of her tractor. As always, many hands (and modern machinery) make light work! What a great community. We thank the Rome Recreation Committee for their good work, including building the new privy at the Rome Town Beach and painting the lines on the Town Basketball Court.

Volunteers also work to restore the Friedrichs’ Beach property to provide expanded lake access for Rome residents and taxpayer.  The Belgrade Lakes Association (BLA) donated a picnic table to the Town of Rome for placement at the Friedrich’s Beach property. The table was built by BLA Board Member and Rome Recreation Committee Member Andy Cook. The kind gesture will assist the Recreation Committee in rehabilitating the property to make it a better place for all Rome residents. Thank you, BLA!
